With gas prices continuing to rise, your IAM Local 1231 has been working hard behind the scenes to advocate for support—and we’re pleased to share that these efforts have resulted in a one-time payment from Spectrum Healthcare, to help ease the burden.
Eligible members who travel between clients to deliver direct care will receive a retroactive fuel top-up of $0.30 for each hour worked, or per visit for those on a visiting model, covering the period from January 5 to March 15, 2026.
This outcome is the result of dedicated advocacy, and we want to recognize the special efforts of Business Representative Ben Osakue and Central Chair Susanna Duncan, who worked tirelessly to help make this happen.
