INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT BRIAN BRYANT VISITS HUMAN RIGHTS CLASS AT THE WILLIAM WINPISINGER EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER

Spread the love

Participants of the Human Rights Program, held at the W3 from August 4 – 9, 2024 were excited to meet the International President Brian Bryant when he made a surprise visit.

This was the first batch of LL1231 Human Rights Committee members to get training at the center . The mission of the IAM Human Rights Department is to create programs and strategies to encourage Local Lodges to establish Human Rights committees; and for those committees to enact and maintain equality and diversity programs beneficial to union members, their families and their communities. This in turn will enable members to become human rights activists by empowering them with knowledge.

Members will be educated on health, economic and social issues, which will ensure equity for all workers without obstacles or barriers.

By providing continuous labour related education, it will encourage and enhance inclusive union engagement across the length and breadth of our diverse union membership.

The program was taught by Nicole Fears, Human Rights Director.
